Işıtan Gün was the board member responsible for Strategic Planning and Business Development at Galatasaray Sports Club in 2013. In 2016, he bought a majority stake in Dutch club Fortuna Sittard and became its president. The club was promoted to the Eredivisie during Gün's presidency. In the 2021 presidential election of Galatasaray SK he was on the list of Burak Elmas . After winning the election from Elmas, he became a member of the board of directors of Galatasaray SK.
